Today is:

Buttery Cheese Bites

  • 1 can or jar spaghetti or marinara or taco sauce
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 16 slices Italian bread
  • 16 slices Provolone cheese

Heat the sauce and set aside. Let the butter come to room temperature and stir in grated cheese. Spread the cheese butter on eight slices of bread and place them butter-side down on a cold buttered/sprayed griddle. Top each slice of bread with two slices of Provolone cheese and top with a second piece of buttered bread, butter side up. Toast the sandwiches over a medium flame until golden, then flip over and toast until the other side is golden and cheese is melted. Cut the sandwiches in 4 fingers and serve with the sauce in cups so you can dunk the sandwiches in.
