Middle Creek March 19, 20 & 21, 2010

Today is:

We arrived in Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area for the Spring Snow Geese & Tundra Swan migration around 1 pm on Friday, March 19th. THe Park Ranger had told us that the majority of the birds had flown north on Monday and only about a couple thousand remained. We were out and about Middle Creek all day Saturday with the Westmoreland Bird & Nature Club and we left Sunday about 10 am for home. It was a warm nice weekend outside. This is a list of birds we saw: several thousand Snow Geese, 10 or so Tundra Swans, American Black Ducks, Northern Pintail, Bufflehead, Double Crested Cormorant, Mergansers, Ring Necked Ducks, Bald Eagle, Red tailed hawk, Great Blue Heron, Short Eared Owl, Turkey Vulture, and a Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker.
