November 10, 2001 — Preliminary Investigation:
This area around Moshannon State Forest has a long history of Bigfoot sightings, and activity has been especially strong in recent years. We spent the day walking several sections of the forest, checking old report locations, and looking for any fresh signs. The goal was to get familiar with the terrain and choose a good place to camp for the following weekend’s overnight investigation.
November 17–18, 2001 — Overnight Expedition:
We camped inside Moshannon State Forest for a full weekend of hiking, observing, and documenting the area.
November 17th: We hiked roughly 18 miles through rugged terrain, eventually reaching a swampy area at the base of a rocky hill. In that swamp, we found a single unknown footprint — unusual in shape and size, and out of place for the conditions. The print was photographed and documented.
That night, we were treated to the Leonids meteor storm. At times the entire sky lit up with streaks of light. It was one of the most intense meteor displays we’ve ever seen — a surreal backdrop for a night in the forest.
November 18th: We covered another 7 miles through a beautiful, heavily wooded mountain area. No additional prints were found, but the terrain showed plenty of potential for future research trips.
